Oh, yes! We are still full steam ahead on the summery posts over here! I was chatting with a friend the other day about how Bozeman went from Winter to full blown Spring in a matter of days. Our temps stopped freezing and suddenly flowers were blooming all around us. (Get ready for lots and lots of florals in upcoming posts.) Meaning I’m ready to start sporting some glowy makeup over nicely bronzed skin.
Even if it is all faux and from the best products out there.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light – Ok this isn’t the most glow-y highlighter out there (that title belongs to Becca + Jaclyn Hill’s highlighter in my humble opinion), but it’s a highlighter that does a beautiful job at blurring the lines of real vs faux glow. Bonus, it can actually be used all over as a perfecting powder for the skin.
St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Primer – What at first was a throw away sample has actually turned into a product I reach for most these days.
It’s so-so as a primer. Not the worst, but certainly not the best. It actually shines as natural self tanning lotion for your face. Upon first application it looks off (too orangey, too dark) but once it dries it looks really beautiful and natural.
Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation – I’ve worn this foundation for y e a r s. It never seems to budge (in even the most challenging of environments) and the shade range is one of the most extensive I’ve seen.
To get it to give a more Summer glow and less of a ‘faux glow’ I simply use a wet foundation brush when applying. The foundation provides a much more sheer cover, something I love embracing when the heat starts setting in.
Claudalie Beauty Elixir – this product has been on my radar for a long time. So when Caudalie was kind enough to send I was a bit over the moon. The spray soothes my overly sensitive skin with the combo of rosemary, astringent mint, and soothing rose organic essential oils. It makes my glowy makeup by brightening up my complexion and even allows me to layer my favorite mineral foundation.
L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadow – this $7 eyeshadow has time and time again out performed much more expensive brands. The color payoff is unreal, as one simple swipe covers my lids in a beautiful silky color. Amber Rush is by far my favorite color, especially for that summer glow!
