I'm The writer, photographer and travel lover behind this lifestyle blog.
Here we celebrate the beauty of balance in everyday life! And the journey of making ourselves uncomfortable.
First off thank you so much for being here! While this is a personal blog and I only suggest items I actually use (plus love!), if you click a link I may receive compensation. This simple thing helps me keep my site ad free.

I would be completely and totally lying to you if I didn’t tell you how much I love Valentine’s Day. To so many people it’s “Single’s Awareness Day” (don’t worry I love those sassy cards in the store too), but to me it’s a day centered around spoiling those that we love and indulging in some self love.
^^ I’m currently obsessed with any cute animal flat
Over the years, through heartaches and full hearts I’m so happy that my parents never let me believe that Valentine’s Day was limited to only romantic gooey love. Instead they made it a family holiday, showing me all shapes and forms of love are worth celebrating.
It can be rough though, I know. Heartaches around such a pink and red filled holiday seem to ache even more, and flowers upon flowers can make them seem almost unbearable. But instead of skirting those abundant heart shaped balloons and counting how many you have yet receive, try to count the forms of love you do have in your life. Having parents you can always turn too, a coworker forever willing to listen to your complaints, friends who jumps up and down to your promotion, are all types of love.
Yet, the most important of all? Love for yourself. Love knowing that everyday you get to have the privilege of being you. Though our mistakes and short comings often seem to cloud out our self-love, remember you and only you know what you have endured. And only you get the chance to make the most of it.
So, whether you find yourself surrounded by heart-shaped balloons this Valentine’s Day or not, remember, to take a little time out of your day to show a little self love. Let yourself relax (maybe make yourself a floral crown) and know that dozens of roses means so little when it comes to loving who you are.
MeganLee Photography is probably the most talented photographer I will ever have the privilege of working with so I was so happy when she was willing to not only swap photos with me, but to also write about how important self love is. Head her way to read her sweet story.
Happy Valentine’s lovelies!
