So often I hear of people loving the atmospheres in coffee shops, yet my favorite atmosphere? Nuance Chocolate shop.
Nuance is a recent find, yet an indulgent one that I love slipping into whenever I sneak over the Wyoming-Colorado border. Their store is filled with lovely brick walls (I have a small, yet very real obsession with brick walls), surrounded by the most decadent chocolates I’ve ever tasted.
Walking into Nuance quite literally reminds me of the movie Chocolat, since the first thing you see are lines of chocolate truffles and a charming decor.
I was so incredibly proud that when I walked in the store this past Saturday that we were the first to arrive! (It’s almost as though the majority of the population didn’t want rich chocolate at ten thirty in the morning.) My parents stopped in before Christmas, to grab me my very own truffle box, and they said they could barely fit through the door it was so crowded! So I was more than happy having the place to our own, save a few families who would come and go.
The most unique thing about this adorable chocolate shop? Chocolate flights. Think wine flights, but no wine and only small, savory chocolate stars. Nuance chocolate flights are chocolate stars made only with sugar and cacao, so the different flavors are hinted and based off where the cacao bean originated from.
But I couldn’t just try one flight and call it a day! So I grabbed a French Style Hot Chocolate before lunch time. I almost went with the Sipping Chocolate, heavy whipping cream + chocolate, but decided to be a bit more healthy … sooooo only whole milk + chocolate. #nocalorieleftbehind
^^And if the store couldn’t get any dreamier, they filled their skylights with lanterns.
I also figured that with all the Parisian style hot chocolate I would be sipping on, that my favorite new necklace from Mirina’s Collections would be a perfect addition to my chocolatey morning. The necklace is by far the most ornate piece of jewelry I own and also my favorite. It’s so different and can even make a simple (and quite old) sweater seem special.
I’m glad I tried some new things in my most favorite local-ish shop, but by far the best thing that Nuance offers are their truffles. Their truffles are infused with local breweries and distilleries wines and creations. (A personal favorite would have to be the mulled wine!)
More pretty lanterns! Can you tell I was obsessed with them? [wc_fa icon=”smile-o” margin_left=”” margin_right=””][/wc_fa] ^^
