I can’t decide if I’m just getting older or if the Montana weather has really just taken a toll on my hair. Either way, I have watched my typically shiny + borderline oily hair turn dry and brittle. Ugh. After finally facing that something has changed, my hairstylist helped point me in the direction of some new products. And with a few unique additions I’ve seen my color treated hair go from brittle to silky in just a few short weeks.
Davines Minu Shampoo and Conditioner – truthfully I have never really believed in expensive shampoo or conditioner u n t i l I tried a sample of these products from my Birchbox. I swear the Minu line makes my hair shine like I’ve never seen. (Though a shine without any added oil.) And allows me to not worry about frizz for at least a couple of days.
The one warning I would give is Davines tends to be heavily scented. Personally, the Minu line is one of their lighter scents, but I would recommend sampling it first. Because I know I absolutely hate when my hair doesn’t smell right.
Moroccanoil Hydrating Conditioner – this was kindly sent to me as a sample and I love the way it has kept my tresses hydrated. It’s much lighter than the Davines conditioner, so if you have extra dry hair, I would suggest just going straight to their Morrocanoil treatment. But for those with fine hair, the Morrocanoil conditioner does a beautiful job of conditioning, all the while not weighing down my hair.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Overnight Mask – if there is one product line I swear by for hair, it’s Living Proof. Their products rarely fail me and the overnight mask is one that I am currently swearing by. It leaves my color treated hair far more soft and I no longer wake up to a frizzy, tangled mess.
I typically use this on night 2 of unwashed hair. I definitely have to balance it out with dry shampoo in the morning, but my day 3 hair has a beautiful bounce to it and completely frizz free. Something that has never happened for me on day 3 of unwashed hair.
Living Proof In Shower Styler – this is absolute gold for all those lazy days. Since our weather has officially warmed up (cue me giddy dancing), I’m getting back into the habit of not blow drying my hair every time I shower. I’ve always hated how my hair looks air dried – frizzy and limp – but this product brings out my waves and keeps frizz at bay.
Though at first the product it is a bit tricky to figure out. Personally, I let my hair feel just a little slick with the product after rinsing it out. Your hair shouldn’t feel oily or greasy, but rather slightly more thick and texturized.
I have to say I’m so happy to be back to my regular swishy hair. What products do you use when your hair needs some extra TLC?
