Happy June!! As many changes I’ve had over the last year and as much disruption it has brought to my regular blogging schedule, there is one thing I always look forward to writing down – my summer bucket list!
Summer has always been my favorite season. I’m pretty positive it’s because I live in typically very cold states, so as soon as warm weather hits it feels a bit like a god send.
Quite literally Italy in Montana. After helping run Ox Pasture’s social media for a bit at my old job, I quickly became obsessed with this restaurant in Red Lodge, MT. And truthfully, I can’t believe that we get such authentic Italian food in the middle of Montana.
If you are lucky enough to be near Red Lodge in the summer, you have to stop in and try their Bucatini Cacio e Pepe or enjoy a perfectly crafted bellini. Either way you’ll never want to leave.
After essentially growing up in Farmer’s Markets (my mom and I ran a soda business), I’m happy to report that I still adore waking up early and getting to see all of the local Montana vendors.
And even more of a bonus is that we have a local flower farm that let’s you build your own floral bouquet. It’s easily my favorite weekly summer habit that I always like to say is for ‘work.’
We are lucky enough to live so close to downtown Bozeman and we never seem to fully appreciate it. Plus, I absolutely adore roaming our streets! I usually try to take a different way home everyday from work and it’s so fun to get lost in my own town.
This has been on my Summer bucket list ever since visiting Glacier last Fall. The peaks in Glacier are truly breathtaking, but I’m dying to visit when the valley’s are filled with flowers.
Check out the photos here and be prepared to book a trip.
Kinda joking about this one, kinda not.
I can hardly believe that we have a completely unobstructed view of the mountains right behind us so our nights spent out on the deck feel a little magical.
Ever since moving to Montana I’ve definitely embraced paddle boarding. We have some of the beautiful lakes surrounding us, and it makes for the best summer hobby to hang out on a mountain lake and escape the heat for a day.
Plus, my pup l o v e s to hop on the board and cruise around the lake with me!
With this being our second summer in Montana I think it’s slowly started to dawn on me with just how little of this state I’ve visited. In my defense it is an absolutely massive state. But still – I knew I need to create an actual list of places to visit, even if it’s just for memory’s sake.
While I’m sure the majority of you have been enjoying warm weather for a while now I would love to hear what you are looking forward to most this summer!
