I have kinda missed the boat on sharing Christmas gift guides this year. My family and I are taking it easy on the presents this year, though I have loved cruising through my favorite gift guides – Mikela just does everything so dang pretty and this is possibly the best gift list out there for the guys.
So while my gift guiding has been seriously lacking this year, my holiday lip game has not been. I feel like this is when most girls reach for the reddest red for the holidays, but I love pairing my holiday attire with moody plums and the most perfect nude.
I’m definitely not a nude lip person. My lips have a lot of pigment to them naturally so whenever I try to wear nude lippies you can tell. ( And not in a good way!) For whatever reason though this tea rose cream lippie “Wink” seems to be my lips favorite match.
Julep’s Light on Your Lips lipstick definitely does not wear as well as other lipsticks I keep in my purse, but I adore the lipstick holder since it has a magnetic cap and base which is a simple addition that I wish more companies would invest in. Plus, the crème formulation feels so luxurious on my lips during the winter.
I tried to save my favorite for last.. but I couldn’t make it! I swoon every time I wear this lipstick. First off the price of the product is kind to even the strictest of budgets. And while the Rimmel lipstick still doesn’t have the lasting power that Bite Beauty lippies do, with a lip primer or lip pencil the Rimmel Kate Moss Collection wears extremely well. (Albeit, don’t expect it to last through food AND drinks.)
I couldn’t love this wine colored red more, but I really want to try out the Rimmel London Kate Moss Nudes collection as well.
I bought this last year and am dangerously close to needing another one. I think if you are someone who wants to invest in a good lippy, but have no idea where to start, you should start with NARS pencils. They have such amazing wear and quality, plus they are a lipstick + lip liner in one, so you aren’t having to invest in multiple products right out the door. Instead, you get one product that you can’t live without.
I am a dark lip lover and “Damned” is just that, though I also have “Bettina” and I can see many natural lip lovers falling over this pretty, shimmering beige color.
If you are in the market for an easy to apply lipstick that wears incredibly well and doesn’t suck all the moisture out of your lips, Luminous Crème Lipstick has got to be a top pick!
I almost didn’t include this tiny little lippie in my round up, but I adore this formula too much to not mention it. While the shade I had was an exclusive shade from Sephora, it wavers between “Muted Berry” and “Electric Pink.” And it’s an unexpected color to pair with the bright reds of the season!
“Musk,” a pink brown color, will probably be my first full sized purchase from Bite Beauty and I cannot wait for it!
Full disclosure I am not a lipgloss girl. At all. But I can’t get over these fun little lippies! I have these in three different colors and the “Devils Food Cake” is by far my favorite.
The butters are such a lightweight lip gloss that actually wear very pretty. It has little to no staying power, but in the harsh winter months it is the one product I know that I can use and not be worried if my lips are too chapped.
With the holidays almost here, a bright bold lip has never been more appropriate! What holiday lippie do you swear by?
PS Is my computer the only one that tries to change “lippie” to “hippie” every time? [wc_fa icon=”smile-o” margin_left=”” margin_right=””][/wc_fa]
