8 Ways to Pamper Yourself Without Leaving Your House

8 Ways to Pamper Yourself Without Leaving Your House

This past weekend was, unfortunately, one of those “working” weekends.  Though it wasn’t so awful as we had a  h u g e  snowstorm that swept Laramie – huge as in over a foot of snow after Saturday night.   So really, as far as working weekends go, I got a bit lucky on which one it was.

Still, it left me feeling as though I never really got to kick back and relax, and prep for a new work week.  And since I couldn’t even leave my house this Sunday, I came up with some dang good ways to pamper myself that involved no travel.

I clearly get very little privacy in my house ^^

one. Add some bubbles.

Is there anything more relaxing than bubbles + candles? I’m pretty sure there is not.

I’m lucky enough that my little house has a gorgeously decorated claw foot tub, and I’ve noticed I am pretty good at making up any excuse as to why I need to use it.

Some of favorite products to add to my bubbley night (aside from Champagne) are LUSH bath bombs.  I tucked away the remainder of this Sparkley Pumpkin bar from last year and finally decided a six month shelf life of for bubble bars is plenty.  If I’m in the need for some more restorative bubbles rather than pretty ones, I love using some muscle relief bath oils.

two. Find your scent.

Whether, that’s some new essential oils, a favorite perfume or (more) candles, scents add a calming atmosphere and are one of the simplest ways to relax + pamper yourself.

three. Pick up a book.

Some days curling up in bed under piles of blankets and a good book is all I really need.  Though lately I’ve been skipping novels and picking up this recipe + lifestyle book, devouring all the beautiful photography and adding every recipe to my arsenal.

Bonus – the author has a cute little corgi that seems to follow her around, much like my little animals do!

four. New nail color.

What the heck is it about pretty colors on my nails that make me feel so much better?

Even if it’s a simple nourishing clear nail polish from Orly, I feel so much put together and ready to tackle any checklist.   However, my forever go-to shade? Essie’s Eternal Optimist.  I swear even non-pink lovers will be buying this by the gallons.

 five. Cup of hot tea.

I’m such a tea addict it’s a little bit ridiculous.  I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I live in a climate that is known to get snow showers in late May (it’s as awful as it sounds), but sitting down with a warm cup in my hands after my bath is a tradition that I  a d o r e.

six. Treat your skin.

This is possibly my favorite way to pamper myself since it doesn’t require much time and something I can commit to nightly!

I like to rotate my skincare each night from a glycolic peel, to a physical exfoliant and to a calming clay mask.  By doing this, I help keep my temperamental skin much more manageable, and don’t it irritate using the same product again and again.

My favorite peel right now is this one and this one, while the microderm scrub I will always swear by is this one from Dr Brandt.

I’m seriously hoping that my weekends are done with limited to travel days, but even if Wyoming decides we need one more snow storm before summer comes, I’ll still probably find excuses for all of these.

How do you pamper yourself at home?
