First time in Austin, TX || O’ Christmas Tree! || Christmas card tips || A Year of Less ||Beauty Oil Battle || Winter Wonderland Dreamin’

While these parities are coming to you a bit late (December flew by and we already welcomed the New Year),  I wanted to enjoy the rest of the month, and not feel the pressure of looking back while simultaneously counting down the last few minutes of 2016.  For me 2016 was a year that showed me how life is something that can rarely be counted on for going to plan.  And while I would love to say I’ve learned to kick back and enjoy the twists that life gives me, I think I’m more just learning how to acknowledge that life sometimes knows what I actually need better than I do.

Wanting: the holidays to stick around a bit longer or for Spring to get here.  I’m flexible.
Reading: Essentialism… I’m still struggling to get into this one, but there are some good lessons in it.
Watching: Parks and Recreation.  After Amy Poehler’s ‘Yes Please’ I just had to start watching the show!
Listening:  to ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ as a book on tape – a new favorite of mine.
Hoping: 2017 lives up to my dreams.  (Don’t we all?)
Waiting: to see if I get the mumps like L and his roommates did.. but seriously who gets the mumps anymore??
Getting: to work lots of projects I keep pushing off.
Wishing: 2017 goes by just a bit slower than 2016.
Working: on being a collaborative blog writer for  The Wonder Forest blog.
Dreaming: of my trip to Jackson.  A white winter wonderland I really didn’t want to give up!
Munching: on pomegranate seeds!
Sipping: on Pomosas 🙂 My family and I made them for Christmas, so I made sure to make them for L for New Years! … And will probably try make them on any holiday from here on out.
Finishing: off my newly designed closet with L – can’t wait to share it with you!
Planning: which Tarte palette to get next – smokey eyes or chiseled cheekbones? 
Saving: for a trip out to California to see some friends.
Looking: forward to 2017.  Cheesey and over used, but I have a lot planned for the year.
Wearing:  s o  m a n y  layers… the cold truth of Wyoming winters.
Buying: this wool skirt – my favorite layer.
Refusing: to stop re-watching Pride and Prejudice… it’s my lazy weekend go to.
Organizing: my whole house.  L and I are talking about moving in together and I’m trying to make room for the cutie!
Loving: a Christmas at home with my family.

Well 2017… I guess we have to accept that you are here.  And that I will most likely not be able to plan you out to the very last second.  Still.. Cheers to 365 days of unknown!
